For over 70 years, Greater Longview United Way has been an integral part of Longview and beyond, working diligently to support organizations that speak directly to the needs of our community in the areas of education, financial stability, and health. One thing that has remained constant throughout our history is that we are better together than apart.
Our mission is to improve the Education, Financial Stability, and Health of every person in our community. We are able to do this by raising funds that are granted to local partner agencies for programs that meet these needs. We currently partner with 20 agencies to provide 37 programs here in East Texas. Each funded program is thoroughly vetted by teams of local volunteers to ensure your gift is used to benefit people in our community.
In addition to the 37 programs that we support, we also operate three initiatives that support our primary mission.
- Each year, the Volunteer Income Assistance (VITA) program brings in over $1,000,000 in tax refunds to taxpayers in our community.
- The INFOline of Gregg County helps connect people in need to resources provided by local agencies.
- The SingleCare prescription savings card program helps those unable to afford needed medications.
